This section allows you to find a Matwork or an Apparatus class and teacher in your area.
- In Apparatus classes, you're taught on large, specialised pieces of equipment, with names such as the Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel or Wunda Chair.
- In Apparatus classes, a higher level of individual attention is usually given. Classes are taught either one-to-one or in small groups with an average 3-6 clients.
- The Apparatus is used to provide resistance to challenge your body and also to provide support for your body, as required.
- Your teacher can modify both the Apparatus and the exercises given, to suit your individual needs.
- Classes are usually taught in a dedicated Pilates venue or studio to accommodate the large Apparatus required.
- On your first visit, you will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire. The teacher will then carry out a postural assessment and tailor a programme specifically for you.
- Your class will continue to be tailored to your needs, as you progress.
- Class duration: 60-90 minutes.
- Classes tend to be more expensive than group Matwork classes to reflect the more individual attention given.
